We are a safe and accepting community

We are a safe and accepting community

We are a safe and accepting community

This seems like a good day to post this (It’s Sydney Mardi Gras weekend).

There are communities for everyone, and ours is one committed to being safe and respectful to all who come to learn and connect.

Some people might argue that bigoted views deserve protection and respect, too.

I strongly disagree.

You are free to have whatever views you want, but in our online and offline spaces, you are not free to express views that harm or diminish the humanity of others.

You are not free to express these views in the safe and sacred learning spaces we create.

This is fine – just go and find another place that’s better suited to you.

The great thing about having my own project without corporate interests is that I can say these things very openly.

We are not building a soulless corporation; we are building a community.

If you are NOT looking for a place of open and diverse connection with all different types of people, I respectfully ask you to go elsewhere.

I am proud and happy to say that NOT ONE of our almost 300 members has done anything to prompt this. It’s just something I like to scream out from time to time.

Be kind and careful with each other!

Kerrin
