(AN ADVANCED LISTENING LESSON)
Now more than ever, we are aware of the importance of our online reputations. We know that everything we post and search might come back to haunt us in future. Likewise, we are increasingly aware of the value of maintaining a good reputation. Many of us are mindful of our Uber and Airbnb ratings, for instance, and use sites like LinkedIn and Instagram to build a following of people who, hopefully, trust us.Â
This week’s lesson is based on a TED talk from 2012, entitled The currency of the new economy is trust.
It is an interesting look back to the beginning of the ‘sharing’ economy. I would be interested to see what you think of this talk, especially with the wisdom of hindsight.
I hope you enjoy this lesson!
