(AN ADVANCED READING LESSON)
Here in Australia, people in Melbourne and Victoria (the southernmost state of the Australian Mainland) are just now moving out of a severe months-long lockdown. Luckily, these measures have been extremely successful in dealing with the serious ‘second wave’ of Covid-19 that struck back in July.Â
Victoria is certainly not alone in experiencing a second wave, but they are one of just a handful of places that have managed to deal with it successfully. This week’s reading lesson compares approaches and outcomes to the second Coronavirus wave that has been seen in countries around the world. It’s based on this article from The Conversation: Of all the places that have seen off a second coronavirus wave, only Vietnam and Hong Kong have done as well as Victorians
I hope you find this lesson useful and brush up on your Covid vocabulary.
I look forward to seeing you in the classroom.
