You might have seen TV shows like ‘Hoarders’, which show extreme examples of people who are unable to throw things away. However, this little-understood issue is much more complicated, and more common, than we might imagine.

This week’s reading lesson looks at the causes and consequences of hoarding, offering an insight into this complex condition. It is based on this article by The Conversation: When possessions are poor substitutes for people: hoarding disorder and loneliness.
