How many metaphors do you know to describe parents? Have you heard of a helicopter parent, or a lawnmower parent? What about a carpenter or a gardener? We all had parents (and some of you are parents yourselves). This week’s lesson, based on an episode of NPR’s ‘Hidden Brain’, explores two of these analogies for two very different styles of parenting, and their consequences.
