The brain in isolation

(AN ADVANCED LISTENING LESSON)

You’ve undoubtedly noticed that social isolation has affected you to some extent. Perhaps it’s made you super productive, or super unproductive. (That’s me! Ha ha!) Maybe you’ve found it challenging to be alone, or maybe you’ve really enjoyed it. As it turns out, everyone responds differently.

However, what we have in common is that we are all social animals, and our brains do respond in a particular way to the experience of being isolated.

I came across this podcast episode earlier in the week, and thought you’d enjoy it too. It’s part of ABC’s fantastic ‘All in the Mind’ podcast, which focuses on issues related to psychology. It’s super interesting so you should check it out!

Here is the link to the podcast episode, but you can also find it on Apple or Spotify: The brain in isolation

I hope you enjoy this lesson and find it interesting.

I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments or by email.

All the best,

Kerrin x
