In many countries, like Australia, there is a huge tax on products like alcohol and cigarettes. This is because these items have such a terrible effect on people’s health.

Considering the terrible health effects of sugar, some people think that sugary drinks should be taxed as well. 

This week’s reading is based on a research report released by the WHO: Taxes on Sugary drinks: Why do it?
