Retirement for animals

(AN INTERMEDIATE READING LESSON)

Anyone who has a pet know the amazing benefits that animals provide for people, and that they deserve our love and care throughout their lives.

But have you ever wondered what happens to service animals (that is, animals that perform special jobs to help and assist people) once they are no longer able to do their jobs?

What happens to these animals after they retire?

This week’s lesson is about an amazing new law that the Polish government is introducing to take care of its retired service animals. You can read the article here: Poland to introduce retirement benefits for police dogs and horses

I hope you enjoy this lesson. Happy studying!
