If there’s one thing the last few years have shown us, it’s that life happens.
Okay, okay, I actually mean sh*t happens!
It’s important to remember that. Good s*it and bad s*it happens. It happens no matter what you have planned for yourself.
If you’re following me online, I’m confident enough to guess that you are a life-long learner of English. This is great, and you’re awesome.
But ‘life-long’ is … a very long time!
Stuff is going to happen to derail your plans.
You’re going to need to rest often.
That’s why it’s so important to reset frequently: celebrate the little wins, enjoy the process, and let go of those inevitable not-so-great bits and the embarrassing moments you feel like sinking into the ground or the times when you’re convinced you’re just “not a good student”.
You’re still you, you’re still awesome, and best of all, you’re still learning.
Make a habit of resetting your mind, your goals and your plans. Do this as often as you need to – every morning, if you feel like it!
Try not to get attached to limiting ideas about yourself, like “I can’t do it”, “I’m too lazy” or “I don’t know (whatever thing)”. You’re always changing and growing, and you need to be willing to let those ideas about yourself go to make space for new ones.
So, as a lifelong-learner (and a human being) take a little time to reset and refocus today.
Be kind to yourself. You’re brave and amazing.
You’ve got this! KH x
