(AN ADVANCED READING LESSON)

Let me start by saying that I LOVE this topic. Something as simple as meeting someone else’s gaze shouldn’t spark so much conversation, but when you consider cultural differences, non-verbal communication and issues like gender and power, you suddenly realise how complicated an issue it is.

This is the first of two lessons exploring the topic of ‘eye contact’. It’s based on this article by BBC Future: Why meeting another’s gaze is so powerful.
